A little about me

Growning up in New York City I feel like I have a great advantage on food culture. Within a 3 block radius you can take a round the world trip starting with areppa’s, to perogies to raman finished up with a delicous cannoli – all of it totally authentic. Being from one of the most diverse city’s in the world, it allows me to learn a new cuisine everyday! It all started when I was 8 years old making eggs… and then nearly burning the kitchen down a few weeks later. Once mum let me back into the kitchen authentic soul food became the first cuisine I was able to master…. I can make a MEAN mac n cheese!
I remember learning how to cook side by side with my mum and aunts tippy toeing trying to see what was in the pot .It was so exciting every time, because of course I got to lick the spoon.

Restaurants were the training ground for where I am today. Some of these include, Catch NY, Bills Food and Drink, Hudson Malone and Commerce.

When it comes to creating a new dish I pull from the street fairs and side trucks I frequently visit – they keep it simple with bold flavors paying homage to their roots.

Working in our Amoraco kitchen is like being in the kitchen with my mum. I love it!
